Come spend an afternoon at Shiba Ramen Oakland with our talented chef, Danny Keiser, and learn how to make the various styles of Japanese inspired pickles that we showcase in our restaurants.
We will taste an assortment of fermented vegetables and sake that pair well with pickles. We will explore how lacto-fermentation plays a key role in driving umami in both food and beverage.
Students will participate in a lecture, live demo, and have an opportunity to make their own batch of pickles to take home.
